NOTE: I know this is something very different from the way I normally write episode reviews, but I wanted to try something new. The “Random Commentary” I was doing for each one was ridiculously fun, but unbelievably time-consuming since I would be writing those as I watched the episodes. This means that I was constantly pausing the episode to type/write. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have enough free time to be doing that, so I’ll be trying out the episode commentaries this way to maybe try and squeeze in more than one episode every few days. Please let me know your thoughts and let me know if this version works better or if the other one is preferred!
Thoughts on the episode? This was sooo much better than the last one. I was actually entertained by this one. The fact that Von Stroheim is also back, and as a cyborg nonetheless, was so ridiculous that it just made sense. I’m fully on-board for whatever else decides to suddenly occur.
Favorite Moment? That little romance that started budding between Joseph and Suzie Q was super random, but so refreshing for some reason. I guess I’m just so used to only seeing any type of romance occur when it came to Jonathan and Erina and no one else. It seems like such a minor part of the JoJo world that it didn’t even cross my mind that it could smack Joseph right in the face. Plus, Suzie Q is kind of weirdly perfect for him. I’m hoping that they, at least, show a bit of that flower blossoming. It’d be nice since we did get to see some of it with his grandfather.
Anything you didn‘t like? Esidisi literally explained the entire plan to them. Why? In my mind, it really served no purpose. I suppose it’s meant to be like every other time characters narrate what’s happening in this show: to make sure the audience knows exactly what’s happening even though we’re watching along with them.
Another thing is… aren’t these Pillar Men supposed to be some crazy invincible beings? Esidisi sure went down pretty quickly if that’s really the case. Oh, well. I’m, at least, looking forward to the Wammu and Kars fights.
Any additional thoughts? Before I end this, I want to take a little moment to appreciate the fact that Kars just saved that tiny adorable puppy from those drunkards. I haven’t seen very much of him yet, but I can already tell that he’s going to be my favorite character this arc. I need more of him, especially after seeing him take down four grown men in mere seconds.
Onwards to the next!
